Vіktar Ciemuśau. „War at the Tіme of Peace» The Fіrst Border War between the Grand Duchy of Lіthuanіa and Moscow (1486—1494)
In the history of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the end of 15th — the first third of the 16th centuries were marked with a number of border wars with the Grand Duchy of Moscow. The first among those is the list studied. And yet it is exactly in 1486-1494 that the strategy of Moscow towards the neighbouring states was established, and the Moscow government’s programme of claims on all the Ruthenian lands in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The article offers new chronological frameworks of the first serious conflict between the major East European states as well as throws light on its most important events. A special attention is paid to accurate geographical localities of the war events.
