Anatol Trafimčyk. 1939 re-unification of Belarus and «historical justice»
On the pretext of so-called „historical justice» and the mission to reunify the Belarusian people the Moscow Kremlin pursued its own ends. Serving the purpose to broaden the Socialist Revolution at most, the Bolsheviks tried to make best use of Belarus in their geopolitical game against the capitalist world. However, events of the year 1939 had the fundamental importance for history of Belarus. But to represent the capture of new territories by the Soviet Union as a „reunion» seems to be not correct. According to the author’s point of view, the term „annexation» is more proper to events of the autumn of 1939.
