Alena Androsik. Fr Leŭ Haroška MIC (for his 110th birthday)

The article describes the life and work of Fr Leŭ Haroška (1911-77) on the occasion of his 110th birthday anniversary. The outstanding Belarusian Uniate priest was also a renowned public figure, researcher, and writer. Fr Haroška’s biography is inscribed into a wider historical context and divided into several main periods, such as early childhood, studies at grammar school, the beginning of the priesthood, the way to monkhood, years of service to God in Belarus, then in Germany, France, and Great Britain, and finally work for Vatican Radio. The article makes use of Fr Leŭ Haroška’s memoirs and publications, as well as other authors’ articles featuring the religious figure, in order to reconstruct his biography.
